Seeds are sown

For what seemed like a lifetime, I played around with the Dell 20 carb, but the bike was still revving like hell when hot. Back to the workshop I found that the inlet manifold had no gasket fitted, just a thin smear of Instant Gasket sealant..and that had slowly but surely disintegrated to virtually nothing. So there it was, it was running way too lean due to taking in air at the inlet manifold. New gasket in place and time for a review so far. Biggest problem without a doubt had been the performance of the ageing SH1/20 - there has to be another way I thought. I didn't want to go down the 22mm Jetex route, as I knew more than a few people with nothing good to say about them! 'Don't want to get out of one frying pan into another' I thought! - then, a glimmer of hope. Late night surfing sometimes has it's benefits, for so it was one night when I stumbled upon MB Developments site, with pages and pages of useful advice - and a recommendation of the 25mm PHBL carb - that's the way to go.
