Go Go Mugello!

OK - so new carb, yes thanks - lovely! Had to drill 25x8mm holes in the side of the airbox, out of view when looking from the front to allow the engine to breathe, but now I'm seriously looking for more oomph! - A couple of mates from MKSC had told me that a guy in Chalton, Beds (Pete) knew a thing or a thousand about what exactly makes a Lambretta tick, having had umpteen years in scooter racing circles and with a vast knowledge of tuning to boot - a quick post on the LCGB forums gave me his phone number - 45 minutes later and I'm whizzing along the A421 to Bedlam Scooters to pick up a Mugello kit.. ah well, the GT kit is a thing of beauty, but it's pricey, unproven and iron barrelled, so much running in to be done! Next day I send the scoot off to Pete with the new Mugello cylinder and piston, quick chat about the suitability of the TV head and it's "I'll call you tomorrow".

What a wait when you can't think about anything else! - 4 pm and Pete is on the phone "It's all on, it's running as sweet as the proverbial nut..." - bang, I'm there in 20 mins!

Run the bike back from Chalton to MK at 80kmh, keeping it steady..just itching to wind it up though and see what it can do...resist the temptation, ah sod it...up up and away! - sensible me sits on my shoulder though and talks devil me out of blowing £250 quids worth of kit up just yet!

Steady all the way back, loads in reserve I can just tell and it's only at 3/4 throttle - 200 miles of this at 4% oil to fuel and I'll be able to wang it around like nobodies business I'm sure!
